Ok, I have to be honest here. I'm not really a photographer. I'm a filmmaker. And not even the kind that gets his hands on the camera. I'm the idea-maker. The guy who comes up with the concept for the film or story. On the crew I generally serve as the writer, producer, and/or director. A pretty prestigious position, really, but not a position that requires tons of technical photographic, gear-head expertise.
But I've been on enough shoots with some of the most talented people in the business that I've picked up a few nasty habits—like taking my own pictures.
But contrary to the bright lights of filmmaking, I like to use natural light. As a portrait photographer I'm an on-location guy. I photograph real people, in real places, using the good ol' sun's natural light as my canvas. No fake studio light or canned laughter here.
My background is in both advertising and film. As a writer/producer/director, I create commercials, short films, and still images that make a lasting impression with the viewer. My forte is in creating empathetic characters. One's you care for, cheer for, and hope to be like.
I got into photography as a natural extension of my film work. As you can see I like to take pictures of my friends—an ever-increasing circle of my friends.
I focus on engagements, family, and senior portraits. While I primarily serve the Heber Valley, Park City and Utah County I can travel elsewhere upon request. If you'd like to book a session, feel free to visit my contact form.
